Marquette University Counselor Education and Psychology Program.  Masters Degree in Community Counseling. 2012
University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, B.S. 2006

Specialty Areas:
Long before becoming a therapist I have always found joy and fascination in my interactions with others.  I view therapy as a natural extension of what I have always loved, holding space for others, getting to know people intimately and being a helper.  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have 12 years providing  individual, couples and family therapy at a wide variety of levels of care including outpatient, day treatment and residential programs.   I work with adolescents and adults and specialize in helping people who struggle with anxiety, OCD, emotional and behavioral dysregulation, self harm and suicidality, and families and intimate partners.

Prior to joining North Shore I spent 17 years with Rogers Behavioral Health where I learned and honed evidence based practices of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) exposure and response prevention (ERP) and Dialectical  Behavioral Therapy (DBT).     In addition to my time as a therapist, I spent 3 years as a clinical supervisor teaching and developing the skills of new therapists.  I have worked hard to take my experience with evidence based care and blend it with my personal approach to a high quality therapeutic experience to meet each client where they are at and create an approach that is both relatable and aligned to the values and beliefs of the clients I serve.

Personally I am happy to share that I am married to my beautiful partner, a fortunate father of 3 usually delightful children and a pet dad for Lulu (dog) and Simba (cat).  I love everything nature and outdoors.  I am an avid distance runner and enthusiastic golfer!

In addition to clinical and psychological services, Dr. Caldwell also works as a child specialist/family mediator for families who are navigating the divorce and separation process. In divorce mediation, a neutral lawyer provides guidance related to the legal process, and a child specialist/family mediator helps to facilitate the creation of an informed, livable, and child-centered parenting plan.
